Nyheim Hines
At one point, Hines had four kick returns for 235 and two touchdowns. He carried the Bills to their victory over the New England Patriots. The longest kick return in NFL history is 109 yards; Hines had one touchdown return for 101 and 97 yards. Hines had 71 percent of the Bills’ total yards.
At one point in the game, Bill Belichick decided that the Pats’ special team was going to squib kick, and it ended up going out of bounds giving the Bills an excellent field position.
Wheeling and Dealing
Josh Allen was spreading the ball to a lot of his receivers. Josh went 19-of-31 for 254 yards and three touchdowns. Although Allen had one interception. The top target for Allen was once again Stefon Diggs, with 104 yards and one touchdown. John Brown also had a 42-yard touchdown. Dawson Knox had a quiet day with two catches for 13 yards and one touchdown.
Lockdown Defense
The Buffalo Bills played lockdown defense against the New England Patriots. Buffalo picked off Mac Jones three separate times. Those picks were by Matt Milano, Tremaine Edmunds, and Tre’Davious White. Jordan Poyer led the team in tackles with seven solo tackles. Gregory Rousseau was able to sack Jones as well.
The Pats leading rusher, Rhamondre Stevenson, only had 54 yards. However, their leading receiver DeVante Parker had 72 yards and two touchdowns. Needless to say, the Bills were able to shut Mac and that offense down, leading to New England only scoring 23 points.
Updates
There are two updates. The first update is there was not a Team of the Week for Week 17 due to the Damar Hamlin situation. The winner of the Cincinnati Bengals-Buffalo Bills game would have been the Top Team of the Week for Week 17. The second update is this series will be continuing into the playoffs.
