Week 3 in the National Football League has officially ended. Therefore, it is time to crown one team as Team of the Week.
This time around, it’s the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles looked like a complete team in a dominant win against the Washington Commanders, showing prowess on all sides of the ball.
Offense
Their offense looked great against the Commanders’ defense. Jalen Hurts went 22-for-25 with three touchdowns and no interceptions while also finishing second on the team in rushing yards. The Eagles’ passing game was great as DeVonta Smith racked up eight catches, 169 yards, and one touchdown.
A.J. Brown played complementary to Smith, adding five catches for 89 yards and one touchdown. Even tight end Dallas Goedert got involved, catching three passes for 26 yards and one touchdown. Philadelphia had a good running game on top of a great passing game; Miles Sanders finished with 15 carries for 46 yards.
Defense
The Eagles’ defense was able to get after Commanders quarterback Carson Wentz early and often, notching nine sacks. Defensive end Brandon Graham made the quarterback’s life a living hell while Josh Sweat and Fletcher Cox both amassed one-and-a-half sacks.
Punting
Philadelphia’s punt game was great. Arryn Siposs booted the ball away six times for 227 yards, with four of those punts finishing inside the 20-yard line. He averaged 46.2 yards.
Meanwhile, Philadelphia’s punt returners played a role Sunday as Britain Covey fielded five punts for 34 yards. Even Smith added a return of his own for 12 yards.
Philadelphia is Dominating
The Philadelphia Eagles’ next game is against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who got a win against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 3. If the Eagles keep playing as they have been, they should remain undefeated after Sunday’s game against the Jaguars. With the way this Eagles team is playing and the division they play in, they should cruise to a division win.
