Week 2 of the National Football League season is in the books. This week, the team that stood out the most was the Buffalo Bills.
Everything just went right for Buffalo in this game against the Tennesee Titans as they secured a 44-7 win. The Bills were dominant on all sides of the ball with Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs leading the way.
Here are the main reasons the Bills were dominant.
Reason No. 1
Buffalo’s offense was dominant. Jose Allen and Stefon Diggs were insane in this game, with Allen going 26-for-38 with 317 yards and four touchdowns. Diggs added 12 receptions for 148 yards and three scores of his own. The Bills’ run game was good, which was a positive improvement over last season. Rookie James Cook was Buffalo’s leading rusher with 11 carries for 53 yards.
Reason No. 2
The Bills’ defense played complementary to the offense. The unit picked off Ryan Tannehill twice and sacked him once. They were also able to keep Derrick Henry in check, holding him to 13 carries for 25 yards and one touchdown.
Reason No. 3
A common trend from Week 2 saw teams failing to preserve leads late in games. In the last two minutes of their contest Sunday, the New York Jets came back to win against the Cleveland Browns. Teams like the Browns and Baltimore Ravens blew their leads and lost. The Los Angeles Rams nearly choked away their 28-3 lead but did narrowly hold on. Ultimately, the fact the Bills were able to hold onto such a big lead is a reason they are the Team of the Week.
