What do most kids want for Christmas? A new toy.

What did Lamar Jackson want for Christmas? A win under his tree.

He did have to wait until Christmas night for his present, but it was all worth it. This Baltimore Ravens’ win over the San Francisco 49ers secured Team of the Week honors.

Lamar 2x MVP?

A heavily debated question this season: should the MVP be a quarterback? Or should it be given to a wide receiver (Tyreek Hill) or running back (Christian McCaffrey)? One dark-horse candidate that very few people were talking about prior to Monday night is Lamar Jackson.

This season, Jackson seems to be having a resurgence of his 2019 MVP season. In a game against arguably one of the best defenses in the NFL, the 49ers, he went 23 of 35 for 252 yards and two touchdowns. Zay Flowers and Nelson Agholor were on the receiving end of his two touchdown passes.

Lamar has had 3,357 yards with 19 touchdowns and only seven interceptions. In his 2019 MVP season, he threw for 3,127 yards, 36 touchdowns, and six interceptions. In terms of passing yardage, Lamar has already exceeded the year where he won MVP.

You Get a Pick! You Get a Pick! You Get a Pick!

The Ravens’ defense picked Brock Purdy off four times. Yes, you are reading that right. They made the 49ers look like the Carolina Panthers. Kyle Hamilton led the team with two separate picks followed by Patrick Queen and Marlon Humphery with one pick each. Marcus Williams also logged an interception, albeit off of Sam Darnold, who entered when Purdy suffered a stinger. In addition, Baltimore’s defensive line was able to sack Purdy and Darnold twice each.

It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, with NFL teams reaching the playoffs and the joy that brings to all that are involved.

The Ravens have not yet clinched the AFC North, but they could have done so if the Cleveland Browns lost to the Houston Texans. They will, however, have a chance to lock up the division title if they beat just one of the Miami Dolphins or Pittsburgh Steelers. Neither team should be overlooked.

The Ravens look like the Super Bowl favorites as of right now. However, as we have learned time and time again this season, just because you are favored or projected to win does not mean you are going to win. That will be crucial for this year because any team can beat any team.

Nevertheless, the regular season is wrapping up fast and the Baltimore Ravens look like the team to beat in the entire NFL.
