Forward Expected to Return for Important Matchup

Center Daniel Theis is on track to return for an important matchup against the powerhouse Houston Rockets tonight, according to the Celtics twitter account.

Barring any issues during warm-ups or shootarounds, Theis should slide right back into his original role. This would prevent Greg Monroe from getting as many minutes as he has in the Celtics’ past games. In the month of February, Theis averaged 7.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and a combined 1.6 steals and blocks in 19.6 minutes.

The Rockets come into this game following the “broken ankles heard ’round the world”, referring to the James Harden step back which sent Wesley Johnson to the floor, and the internet into a meme frenzy.

Look for Theis to take on 6-foot-10 Clint Capela, who leads the Rockets in rebounds per game with 11.1 and is second in field goal percentage with 65.7 percent this season. Capela’s productivity has been a huge part of the Rockets 14-game win streak, and their record on the season.

If Theis can return, it’ll be important for him to limit Capela in the paint and snuff out the fuel that’s ignited these Rockets win streak.
