The past season and offseason have been one to remember for Tampa Bay Buccaneer fans. The team’s starting quarterback was the first one to throw 30 touchdowns as well as 30 interceptions. Flash forward to the present and they have Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski without losing any of their significant players. Here are five bold things for the 2020 season for the Buccaneers.
Make sure to check out all of our other team bold predictions here.
At Least Four Receivers Go for Over 1,000 Yards
As said in the article “Five Bold Predictions for the 2020 NFL Season”, it states that this offense might be Brady’s most talented since the 2007 season. The receivers that should be most expected to top 1,000 yards are Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Gronkowski, and O.J. Howard. Howard may seem like a surprise, but due to the number of other talents around him and the way Brady excelled with two tight ends from 2010-2012 could work in Howard’s favor.
Devin White Wins Defensive Player of the Year
Coming off a strong rookie campaign, it will be interesting to see if White can take the next step to become a top tier linebacker. After being selected fifth overall in the 2019 NFL Draft, White lived up to expectations by having 91 tackles, one interception, three forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and two touchdowns, while only playing in 13 games. If White is able to elevate his game, do not be surprised if he is in the conversation for one of the best linebackers in the league.

John Franklin III Finally Gets His Time to Shine
If you have watched the show “Last Chance U”, you probably know who Franklin is (AKA JF3). Franklin, a quarterback turned defensive back turned wide receiver, has never really been given a real shot in the NFL. Last season he played scout team quarterback for the Buccaneers and head coach Bruce Arians was so impressed, he gave Franklin a shot as a wildcat quarterback in-game. This year, Franklin could be used as a gadget player and can finally get the number of touches he deserves.
Sean Murphy-Bunting Leads the League in Interceptions
Another rookie from the class of 2019, Murphy-Bunting had three interceptions last year and progressed as the season went on. With a year of experience under his belt, and with teams more likely to pass on the Buccaneers now since the offense should put up more points, Murphy-Bunting could have a field day.
Sean Murphy-Bunting grew up in the Detroit area and went to school at Central Michigan.

The Buccaneers Sweep the New Orleans Saints and Win the Division Title
Although this may be the least bold prediction, some people may not think this can happen. With Brady now on the Buccaneers, it will make the Saints and Bucs matchups more interesting to watch this upcoming year. Depending on who wins these two matchups could determine who wins not only the NFC South but also gets the top playoff seed in the NFC.
