Fantasy Football Winners and Losers: Week 11

Week 11 of the 2020 NFL season is in the books. For the majority of the league, Tuesday morning brings a whole new week of football and preparing for their next game. However, a handful of players might not want to leave Week 11 so soon. Here’s a look at who impressed and who underachieved this week.

Quarterback

Winner: Deshaun Watson (31.36 FPTS)

Watson had one of his best games of the year on Sunday, ripping apart the New England Patriots for 344 yards and two touchdowns on 27 completions. He also added six carries for 36 yards and one score on the ground en route to the Houston Texans’ 27-20 win over New England. Watson looks to continue his production against a porous Detroit Lions secondary on Thanksgiving Day.

Loser: Matt Ryan (5.28 FPTS)

Ryan posted his worst showing of the year as the Atlanta Falcons fell to the New Orleans Saints by a score of 24-9 on Sunday. The veteran signal-caller threw two picks and was sacked a whopping eight times, including seven on third down. He completed just 19 of 37 passes for 232 yards, failing to find the end zone. He’ll look to bounce back in a favorable matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders next week.

Running Back

Winner: Dalvin Cook (25.0 FPTS)

Cook had another big game this week, adding 160 scrimmage yards and one touchdown in the Minnesota Vikings’ loss to the Dallas Cowboys. He finished the game with 27 carries while also hauling in all five targets. Cook is the clear RB1 in fantasy football and continues to trend up ahead of matchups with the Carolina Panthers and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Loser: Ronald Jones (2.4 FPTS)

Nobody was expecting Jones to replicate his 198-yard performance from Week 10. Nevertheless, he still disappointed on Monday Night Football this week with just 10 carries for 24 yards. Despite having two favorable matchups over the next three weeks (with a bye week sandwiched in between), Jones can’t be trusted on a weekly basis.

Wide Receiver

Winner: Adam Thielen (32.3 FPTS)

Adam Thielen is back. He has four touchdowns over two games and is one of the most attractive names in fantasy football right now. He finished Week 11 with eight catches for 123 yards and two scores and has returned to WR1 status ahead of three straight favorable matchups.

Loser: Tee Higgins (5.6 FPTS)

The Cincinnati Bengals’ rookie receiver posted his worst outing since Week 1 on Sunday, catching just three of 10 targets for 26 yards. It didn’t help that Ryan Finley was thrust into the game on short notice, and with the backup taking over as the starter going forward, Higgins is not a safe option for your lineup.

Tight End

Winner: Travis Kelce (26.86 FPTS)

The clear TE1 this year, Kelce broke out for another big game against the Raiders. Mahomes and Kelce connected eight times for 127 yards and one touchdown, propelling the Kansas City Chiefs to a narrow victory on Sunday Night Football. Kelce has moderately challenging matchups over the next few weeks but remains the best option at his position.

Loser: Hayden Hurst (0.0 FPTS)

Hurst’s struggles on Sunday were merely a product of the Falcons’ struggling offense and do not warrant any panic, but that doesn’t negate the fact that he saw just two targets and tallied zero receptions. He’s still a reliable tight end option with a favorable rest-of-season schedule.

Defense

Winner: Browns D/ST (20.0 FPTS)

The Cleveland Browns had a field day against the Philadelphia Eagles this week. While the game ended up coming down to the wire, Cleveland’s defense stood out with three turnovers, one touchdown, and five sacks. They remain a top fantasy option against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 12.

Loser: Dolphins D/ST (-1.0 FPTS)

Miami’s entire team struggled on Sunday, ultimately losing to the Denver Broncos. The Dolphins’ defense managed to record two turnovers but still allowed 459 yards and 20 points to a Drew Lock-led offense. Miami should bounce back with two straight matchups against the Bengals and New York Jets.
