Fantasy players will have to decide whether last week’s high-scoring running back is a sign of things to come or a fluke. However, the most critical part of the waiver wire is finding the right players to stream for the upcoming matchup. Whether you need an injury replacement or your current starter has a bad matchup, it is critical to find the right player to stream. With that in mind, here are eight potential streaming options for Week 6.
The following players are owned in under 50 percent of ESPN leagues. All stats are base on four-point per passing touchdown and PPR scoring.
Trevor Lawrence vs Miami Dolphins (42.9%)
Lawrence has put together back-to-back games with 17.8 or more fantasy points, totaling three touchdowns and only one turnover in those contests. More importantly, after averaging three rushing attempts and 1.5 fantasy points per game on the ground in his first three games this season, Lawrence has averaged 7.5 rushing attempts and 9.2 fantasy points per game on the ground in the past two games. Meanwhile, the Dolphins have allowed quarterbacks to averaged 21.7 fantasy points per game this season. They have allowed at least two passing touchdowns and 17.9 fantasy points to quarterbacks in three straight games. After struggling earlier this season, Lawrence appears ready for a breakout performance this week against a struggling Miami defense.
Taylor Heinicke vs Kansas City Chiefs (12.5%)
Last week, Heinicke mightily struggled against the New Orleans Saints, scoring a season-low 9.9 fantasy points after throwing two interceptions and zero touchdowns. However, in his three previous starts this season, Heinicke averaged 23.1 fantasy points per game, scoring at least 20 in every contest. More importantly, Heinicke scored three total touchdowns in his two previous games before the matchup against the Saints. Meanwhile, the Chiefs have struggled to slow down quarterbacks this season, giving up 28.1 fantasy points per game to the position. They have given up at least 28 fantasy points to quarterbacks in four straight games, including 30 or more in three of them. The Chiefs will have no trouble scoring on Sunday, forcing Heinicke to chase points and finish with over 20 fantasy points.
Hunter Henry vs Dallas Cowboys (35.6%)
If you read last week’s Starts, Sits, Sleepers article, you would have picked up and started Henry. He finished last week’s game against the Houston Texans with six catches on eight targets for 75 receiving yards, a touchdown, and a season-high 19.5 fantasy points. Furthermore, it was the second game in a row that Henry scored a touchdown and finished with over 13 fantasy points. Meanwhile, the Cowboys have allowed an average of 15.6 fantasy points per game to tight ends this season, giving up over 23.5 fantasy points to the position in 40 percent of their contests. Over the past three weeks, Henry is second on the team, averaging 6.3 targets per game. For fantasy owners who need a bye week replacement, Henry is your top target.
Evan Engram vs Los Angeles Rams (30.0%)
After missing the first two games with an injury, Engram has averaged 5.3 targets and 6.3 fantasy points per game this season despite not finding the end zone. More importantly, Engram had a season-high 55 receiving yards and 9.5 fantasy points last week against the Cowboys. Meanwhile, the Rams have given up an average of 14 fantasy points per game to tight ends this season, allowing at least 16 fantasy points to the position in three of their past four games. Furthermore, tight ends have at least five catches in all but one game against the Rams this season. With Kenny Golladay, Sterling Shepard, and Darius Slayton dealing with injuries, Engram could have a career game this week against the Rams.
Dallas Cowboys D/ST at New England Patriots (34.9%)
Entering the season, many thought the Cowboys D/ST would be historically bad. However, they have averaged 7.2 fantasy points per game this season, scoring seven or more fantasy points in three straight contests. More importantly, they have held their opponents to 20 or fewer points in 60 percent of their games this season. Meanwhile, opposing D/STs have averaged 8.8 fantasy points per game against the Patriots this season, scoring 11 or more fantasy points in 40 percent of their games against New England. Furthermore, Mac Jones has thrown four interceptions over the past three weeks. With Trevon Diggs and his NFL leading six interceptions leading the way, expect the Cowboys D/ST to force at least two turnovers this week.
Green Bay Packers D/ST at Chicago Bears (20.1%)
While the offense gets a lot of credit, and rightfully so, the Packers D/ST has averaged 7.5 fantasy points per game over the past four weeks, scoring at least six fantasy points in every contest. Furthermore, they have averaged three sacks and two turnovers per game over their past three games. Meanwhile, opposing D/STs have averaged eight fantasy points per game this season against the Bears, scoring eight or more in 60 percent of their games. More importantly, D/STs have averaged four sacks per game in games with Justin Fields as the starter. The Bears have done everything possible to limit how much they put on Fields’ shoulders. However, the Packers will score points and force the Bears to throw the ball, leading to fantasy points for the Packers D/ST.
Evan McPherson at Detroit Lions (9.9%)
Over the first four games of his NFL career, McPherson made five of his six field goals and all 11 extra-point attempts, averaging 7.5 fantasy points per game. However, he struggled this past weekend against the Packers, missing both of his field-goal attempts, finishing with zero fantasy points. While the rookie had a rough performance, fantasy players should consider playing him this week, given the matchup. The Lions have allowed kickers to average 11.2 fantasy points per game, including 16 in two of their past three contests. Meanwhile, the Bengals have averaged 22.8 points per game, while the Lions have given up an average of 27.6 points per game. Expect the Bengals to move the ball at will on Sunday, creating plenty of opportunities for McPherson to score.
Chris Boswell vs Seattle Seahawks (6.4%)
The Pittsburgh Steelers offense has been frustrating to watch at times this season, but it has led to fantasy points for Boswell. He has scored double-digit fantasy points twice this season, including last week. More importantly, Boswell has averaged eight fantasy points per game this season, making all but one of his field goals. Meanwhile, the Seahawks have allowed kickers to average eight fantasy points per game this season, scoring 13 or more in two of their past four games. Furthermore, removing the Week 4 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, who lost their kicker to a pregame injury, kickers have averaged 10 fantasy points per game against the Seahawks this season. Boswell should have plenty of kicking opportunities in this game against a banged-up Seattle team.
