Fantasy players will have to decide whether last week’s high-scoring running back is a sign of things to come or a fluke. However, the most critical part of the waiver wire is finding the right players to stream for the upcoming matchup. Whether you need an injury replacement or your current starter has a bad matchup, it is critical to find the right player to stream. With that in mind, here are eight potential streaming options for Week 11.
The following players are own in under 50 percent of ESPN leagues. All stats are based on four-point per passing touchdown and PPR scoring.
Tua Tagovailoa at New York Jets (36.1%)
On Thursday night, Tua came off the bench and replaced an injured Jacoby Brissett. He led the Miami Dolphins to a 22-10 upset victory over the Baltimore Ravens. On 32 snaps, Tua finished with 12.3 fantasy points after throwing for 158 yards on only 13 pass attempts. In his previous three starts, Tua averaged two passing touchdowns and 21 fantasy points per game. This week Tua will face a Jets defense that has been killed by quarterbacks recently. Over their past five games, the Jets have given up an average of 22.4 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks, giving up at least 20.9 fantasy points in every contest. Assuming he is healthy, Tua has top-10 upside this week against a struggling Jets defense.
Mac Jones at Atlanta Falcons (13.9%)
The rookie quarterback is coming off arguably his best game as a pro, throwing a career-high three touchdowns and an 82.6 percent completion rate last week against the Cleveland Browns. Jones finished that game with 19.9 fantasy points. It was the second time that Jones scored 19 or more fantasy points in a game over the past month. More importantly, Jones has an excellent matchup this weekend against the Falcons. Last week they surrendered three touchdowns and 26.3 fantasy points to Dak Prescott. The Falcons have allowed quarterbacks to average 21.4 fantasy points per game this season, giving up 26 or more fantasy points in over half of their games. Fantasy owners who need a bye week filler or injury replacement can trust Jones as a safe floor option.
Pat Freiermuth at Los Angeles Chargers (46.3%)
A week from now, Freiermuth should be own in over 80 percent of fantasy leagues. Since JuJu Smith-Schuster suffered a season-ending shoulder injury, Freiermuth has averaged 5.3 catches on 7.3 targets and 13.7 fantasy points per game. During that span, Freiermuth has scored at least 12.5 fantasy points in three of those four contests. More importantly, he had a career-high nine targets last week against the Detroit Lions. Meanwhile, the Chargers have given up an average of 16.5 fantasy points per game to tight ends this season. They have given up 18.5 or more fantasy points in five of their past seven games. Last week the Chargers gave up two touchdowns to Tyler Conklin. Expect Freiermuth to have the best game of his career on Sunday night.
Tyler Conklin vs Green Bay Packers (39.6%)
Last week Conklin made the streamers list and finished with 16.1 fantasy points against the Chargers. He ended the week as a top-six tight end after scoring two touchdowns. However, he has been a consistent streaming option for fantasy owners this season. Over the past four games, Conklin has averaged four catches on six targets and 11.6 fantasy points per game, scoring at least 9.5 fantasy points in every contest. This week Conklin faces a Packers defense that has been shredded by tight ends this season, giving up 13.7 fantasy points per game to the position. Over the past two weeks, the Packers have given up an average of 18.2 fantasy points per game to tight ends. Conklin should have no trouble keeping up his recent play against the Packers.
Carolina Panthers D/ST vs Washington Football Team (48.9%)
Not only will this be the first game in Carolina for former head coach Ron Rivera, but the expectations are Cam Newton will start this week. The headlines will write themselves this week; however, one thing is for sure: the Carolina defense will show up. The Panthers D/ST has averaged 7.7 fantasy points per game this season, scoring 10 or more fantasy points in 60 percent of the games. More importantly, they have averaged 11.3 fantasy points per game over the past three weeks, scoring at least eight fantasy points in every contest. Meanwhile, opposing D/STs have averaged 6.4 fantasy points per game against Washington this season. They have scored an average of 10.3 fantasy points per game the past four games. The Panthers D/ST has top-three upside this week.
Miami Dolphins D/ST at New York Jets (15.5%)
While it seems forever ago, let’s not forget how well the Miami defense shut down Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore offense last week. Over the past two weeks, the Dolphins D/ST has averaged three turnovers, 4.5 sacks, 9.5 points allowed, and 17.5 fantasy points per game. This week they face the friendliest fantasy team in the NFL. Opposing D/STs have averaged 8.6 fantasy points per game against the Jets this season, scoring 11 or more fantasy points in over half the matchups. Last week the Buffalo Bills forced five turnovers against the Jets. It marked the fourth game in a row that the Jets have turned the ball over at least twice. Expect the Dolphins D/ST to keep up their recent play this week and score double-digit fantasy points.
Jason Sanders at New York Jets (39.9%)
It might appear that we are picking on the Jets this week because we are. They have given up an average of 11 fantasy points per game to kickers this season, giving up at least seven fantasy points in every game. More importantly, kickers have scored nine or more fantasy points in seven of their past eight games against the Jets this season. Meanwhile, Sanders matched his season-high with 10 fantasy points against the Ravens last week. He made all three of his field goals in their upset victory. Sanders has converted 75 percent of his field goals this season, including two of three from beyond 50 yards. While Sanders hasn’t been a great fantasy kicker this season, this week’s matchup makes him a top-10 kicker.
Chase McLaughlin vs Detroit Lions (18.5%)
Despite scoring a season-low one fantasy point last week against the New England Patriots, McLaughlin has been on the better fantasy kickers this season. He has averaged 7.6 fantasy points per game since Week 3, scoring 10 or more fantasy points in three of those contests. Meanwhile, the Lions have been a fantasy gold mine for kickers this season, giving up an average of 11.6 fantasy points per game to the position. They have given up 11 or more fantasy points to kickers in four of their past five games. Whether Baker Mayfield or Case Keenum is under center for the Browns this week, expect them to score at will on the Lions, leading to plenty of kicking opportunities for McLaughlin.
