Tonight we have a matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While fans will have their eyes glued to the game, watching every play with the utmost attention, gamblers only care about making money. However, which bets will lead to cash in their pockets? Ezekiel Elliott Over 79.5 Scrimmage Yards (-110)
With Dak Prescott coming off two injuries in the past year, expect Zeke to have a critical role in tonight’s game. In the five games with Prescott under center, Zeke had 80 or more scrimmage yards in four of them. Furthermore, Elliott had 80 or more scrimmage yards in over half of his games last year, including three of his final six. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers had one of the better run defenses last season. Yet, they gave up 92.3 scrimmage yards per game to the position. Not only will the Cowboys have Dak under center tonight, but a mostly healthy offensive line too. If Zeke could average 87.8 scrimmage yards per game last year, he should have no trouble going over 80 tonight.
Mike Evans to Score an Anytime Touchdown (-110)
Tom Brady has an excellent trio of wide receivers at his disposal. However, Evans is Brady’s best weapon downfield and in the red zone. Last season, Evans had at least one touchdown in 10 of his 16 games (63 percent), scoring two or more in three games. Evans has been a touchdown machine, scoring 12 or more touchdowns in nearly half of the seasons in his career. Furthermore, Evans has scored a touchdown in 61 of his 106 career games (58 percent). Meanwhile, the Cowboys struggled to keep wide receivers out of the end zone last season. Dallas gave up 27 touchdowns to the position, most in the NFL. Evans is more likely to score twice tonight than kept out of the end zone.
Dak Prescott Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (-170)
After almost a year since his last NFL snap, Prescott is excited and ready to play. Last year, Dak averaged over two passing touchdowns per game in his four healthy starts. For his career, Prescott averages 1.54 passing touchdowns per game. Furthermore, Dak has thrown two or more touchdowns in 33 career games, including 13 of his past 21 (62 percent) healthy games. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers gave up an average of only 1.4 passing touchdowns per game last season. However, that number is misleading as they gave up two or more passing touchdowns in 10 games. When they faced an elite quarterback, the Buccaneers’ secondary struggled. In his first game back in almost a year, expect Prescott to come out firing.
Antonio Brown Over 4.5 Receptions (-145)
Early in the 2020 season, the Tampa Bay passing attack was inconsistent. However, once they added Brown, things started to change. Brown averaged 5.6 receptions per game last season, totaling five or more in five of his past seven games. For his career, Brown averages 6.4 receptions per game. He has five or more receptions in 73 percent of his career games. Recently, Bruce Arians said Brown is playing like how he was a few years ago. Furthermore, Chris Godwin is dealing with a quad injury. While he will play, he might be limited, opening up more targets for Brown. Meanwhile, the Cowboys gave up over 12 receptions per game to wide receivers last year. Brady pushed for the Buccaneers to sign Brown last year, expect them to connect plenty this season.
Ezekiel Elliott to Score an Anytime Touchdown (-120)
While Zeke had the worst year of his career in 2020, he remained one of the top running backs in the NFL. In the five games Prescott started last year, Zeke had six total touchdowns, scoring in all but one of those games. For his career, Zeke has 56 total touchdowns in 71 games. He has scored at least once in 55 percent of his games for his career. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers gave up 10 touchdowns to running backs last season. However, they struggled when facing elite backs. Thanks to their poor defense, the Cowboys will want to lean on Zeke to keep Brady off the field. Expect Elliott to score at least once tonight. Furthermore, he should be the favorite to score the first touchdown of the season for the Cowboys.
