While the 2021 NFL season is still months away, it is never too early to prepare for the fantasy season. Whether it’s research, mock drafts, or going with your gut, everyone has a way to prepare for their fantasy drafts. However, this isn’t another article to help you prepare for the fantasy season. Today, I am going to give three bold fantasy predictions for the Chicago Bears in 2021.

David Montgomery Finishes as a Top-12 Running Back
Last season, Montgomery finished the year as the RB4 with 264.8 fantasy points. Montgomery finished the season strong, averaging 25.7 fantasy points per game over his final six games. However, he did most of his scoring on the ground, averaging 19.3 rushing attempts per game to go along with seven rushing touchdowns. Furthermore, many believe the return of Tarik Cohen will turn Montgomery into a low-end RB2. That isn’t true. Even if you project Montgomery with his receiving numbers from his rookie year (25 catches for 185 yards and one touchdown) with his rushing number from last year, he would score 214.7 fantasy points over a 16 game pace. That would have made him the RB11 in 2020. Don’t fade Montgomery.
Allen Robinson Scores Double-Digit Touchdowns
Robinson has the worst luck when it comes to who is throwing him the ball. Whether it’s Blake Bortles in Jacksonville or Mitchell Trubisky in Chicago, Robinson has been a consistent fantasy player despite awful quarterback play. However, despite averaged 15.9 or more fantasy points in each of his last two years in Chicago, Robinson has only one season with more than seven touchdowns in his career. Furthermore, Robinson didn’t lead the team in receiving touchdowns in two of his first three years in Chicago. With improved quarterback play from Andy Dalton and Justin Fields, Robinson will get more red zone targets. Hopefully, this will lead to Robinson’s first season of double-digit touchdowns since 2015.
Darnell Mooney Gets Over 110 Targets
The 2020 fifth-round pick had an up and down rookie season but finished the year strong. After averaging 5.4 targets and 8.5 fantasy points per game over the first eight games of the season, Mooney averaged 6.9 targets and 10.5 fantasy points per game over the final eight games of the season. Furthermore, over the last three games of the season, Mooney started to shine, averaging 8.3 targets and 15 fantasy points per game. Rumors are Anthony Miller won’t make the final roster. Meanwhile, the Bears waited until the sixth round of the draft to add a wide receiver. Mooney should have no trouble averaging the needed 6.5 targets per game to reach 110 this season. If he does, Mooney will likely finish the season in the WR3 range.
