The Philadelphia Eagles are further adding to their cornerback depth, as they signed former Los Angeles Rams and Buffalo Bills nickel cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman to a one-year deal on Wednesday. Josina Anderson from ESPN had the news first, saying that Robey-Coleman texted her he was signing there.
CB Nickell Robey-Coleman just text me he is going to the #Eagles on a 1-year deal.

Robey-Coleman is one of the best slot corners in the league which gives the Eagles a major upgrade to that position. The 28-year old went undrafted out of USC to the Bills in 2013 where he played for four seasons before playing the last three seasons with the Rams. Over his seven-year career, he has collected 48 deflected passes, six interceptions, five forced fumbles (all recovered), and five sacks.
After trading for Darius Slay from the Detroit Lions last week, letting Malcolm Jenkins walk, and signing former Denver Broncos safety Will Parks, the Eagles secondary depth chart now looks something like this:
CB1 | Darius Slay | Rasul Douglas |
CB2 | Avonte Maddox | Sidney Jones |
Nickel | Nickell Robey-Coleman | Cre’von LeBlanc |
FS | Rodney McLeod | Marcus Epps |
SS | Jalen Mills | Will Parks |
The Eagles’ biggest need now going into this April’s NFL Draft is at receiver. Be on the lookout for my Philadelphia Eagles Seven-Round Mock Draft 2.0 soon!
