The Cleveland Indians and Minnesota Twins headline the MLB schedule tonight. As for the DFS landscape, we have a pitcher that can provide salary relief for some bats that are running on all cylinders of late. No time than the present to saddle up and go for a rip. Scorecards, crackerjack, sunflower seeds, we’re Going Around the Horn!
PITCHER
Dallas Keuchel ATL $8,000
Keuchel has been the Keuchel we’ve come to know, steady but not spectacular. Tonight he will face a struggling Marlins squad that has really hit the skids of late. The Marlins have dropped five straight while totally just 14 runs in the process(2.8 Runs per game). In his last seven outings, he has a 2-3 record with a 3.57 ERA. Of note, Keuchel had a spectacular performance July 23rd when he managed to punch out 12 in a no-decision to the Royals. The season series lends heavily towards the Braves this season as they have won 10-of-12 games.
INFIELD
Gio Urshela NYY 3B $4,600
The Yankees continue to be one of the deeper offenses in all of baseball. Urshela is one of many Bronx bombers who has stepped up in a large way catapulting them into the highest ranks in numerous offensive categories. Despite the Jays recent better play of late they still rank 20th in ERA at 4.72, and 21st in FIP at 4.75 before Wednesday night’s action. Lefty Thomas Pannone will get the start, Urshella is hitting a tidy .281 versus left-handers in 96 at-bats. Urshella is 17-for-34 averaging 13.3 DK pts per game amassed over his last 10 games making him a great selection at this very friendly price.
Ronald Acuna Jr.ATL 2B $4,800
There is no denying the Braves offense has been running on all cylinders of late. Since the 30th of July, they rank fourth in runs scored with 57 in a stretch of nine games. The Braves will be matched up against youngster Elieser Herandez, another one of the Marlins players that are trying to find their way in becoming an established big leaguer. Last time out Hernandez had some control issues giving up four walks in just three innings of work. It was just his second start since rejoining the rotation. Acuna much like Albies, who we’ll get to in just a bit, is on a tear, he is averaging 13.9 DKpts per game in his last 10 contests.
OUTFIELD
Ronald Acuna Jr. ATL $5,600
Acuna, who sees both left-handed and right-handed pitching really well given his identical .293 clip against each handedness will look to feast. For the month of August Acuna has shown us plenty of pop knocking 4 round-trippers in his last 10 games. He has also given us a great return despite his higher price tag, averaging 12.9 DK pts per game.
Nelson Cruz MIN $5,500
Seems like there is nothing stopping the veteran slugger of late. Going into last night’s game the mashing master has been “cruising” his way going deep 13 times in his last 15 games. Equally impressive is his 19 bombs in a 30 game span.
