The Jacksonville Sharks hosted the Carolina Corbas at the Jacksonville Memorial Stadium in Jacksonville, FL Saturday night. They were looking for their third consecutive win while handing the Cobras their first loss.
Carolina scored first when Charles McCullum found Philip Barnett for a seven yard touchdown. A two-point conversion made the score 8-0. The Sharks scored when Jonathon Bane found Devin Wilson for a 38 yard touchdown. They went with an extra point, so the Cobras still led 8-7.
They finally look the lead in the second half when Bane and Wilson hooked up for another touchdown. Both teams scored once more in the half and the Sharks led 21-18 at halftime.
Both teams scored once in the third quarter, meaning the Sharks had a 29-24 lead heading into the fourth quarter. The lone score of the fourth was a five-yard rushing touchdown from Wilson. The Sharks went on to win, 35-24.
Bane finished with 237 yards and four touchdown passes. Wilson finished with 120 total yards, including 115 receiving. Defense also stepped up, sacking McCullum twice in this game.
Their next game is on May 18 when they host a former Arena Football League rival in the Orlando Predators, who have lost four in a row. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.
