For the second consecutive week, the Sharks took on the Massachusetts Pirates. They just defeated the Pirates up in Worcestor and were now looking to complete the season sweep and get their 12th win in a row.
Things didn’t start out so well for the Sharks, as they found themselves down 17-7 at the end of the first quarter. They would show why are the domainant team they have been all season, however.
Jacksonville went on a 30-3 run to have a 30-20 lead in the second quarter. A Pirates touchdown cut the lead to 30-27 by halftime. They would also lead after three quarters, 40-33.
Trailing 47-40 with just seconds left, backup quarterback Mike Faufal threw a touchdown to Jarmon Fortson to send the game into overtime. The Sharks got on the board first when Faufel found Devin Wilson for the 54-47 lead.
After Massachusetts picked up a first down on their possesion, a Sean Brackett pass was intercepted by Robert Brown to end the game. Jacksonville will look to finish the regular season with just one loss next week against the Orlando Predators.
