David Pastrnak Belongs on Bruins’ First Line

The Boston Bruins found a good one in David Pastrnak. The fourth year right wing is coming off a career-high 34-goal season and has already found the back of the net eight times so far this year.

Pastrnak started the season of the second line in hopes of spreading the offense around and hopefully let rookie Anders Bjork break out with the starters, but so far that hasn’t gone as planned.

The idea was that keeping Pastrnak on the second line would help jump start the offense when players not named Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron are on the ice.

This was something the Bruins struggled to do consistently last season and has been an issue at times so far in 2017-2018.

Anders Bjork has shown potential, but he hasn’t looked as sharp when Marchand and Bergeron aren’t on the ice. The rookie needs to ease in to a heavier workload and will hopefully break out down the line.

Meanwhile, Pastrnak already has 13 points and looks like he is finding his groove. He scored twice on the first line in the Bruins’ 3-2 loss to the Washington Capitals.

Bjork cooling off and the team suffering several injuries have resulted in Pastrnak returning to the first line right wing position and that’s where he needs to stay.

Teams don’t fear the Bruins offense right now, but having a high-powered first line of Marchand, Bergeron, and Pastrnak could change that.
