Welcome back to Damico’s Depository where I pick my locks to cover the spread in college football! Last week, I went 7-1 (Thanks, Wake Forest), bringing my year-to-date record to 29-22 (.569). A good week this week will propel me closer to my goal of .600. Let’s get into it.
UMass +41 at Northwestern
Wait Gio, you’re betting in favor of UMass? Oh, you best believe it. Northwestern is 1-8 and their offense is absolutely awful. While their defense keeps them in games, I don’t even know if their offense can put up 41 points. Northwestern still blows them out, but it’s closer than by 41.
11 Florida -6.5 at Missouri
This line switched this morning from 7 to 6.5 and now I’m confident in it. Florida should be able to easily beat Missouri by at least a touchdown.
18 Memphis -10.5 at Houston
Houston’s defense has been atrocious this year, and they face Brady White and the powerful Tigers’ offense. The Cougars hung with SMU three weeks ago, but they won’t be able to hang with Memphis.
8 Minnesota +3 at 20 Iowa
This line doesn’t surprise me as much as it surprised some other people. Iowa always plays tough football. They’ve upset undefeated teams before and this time I guess it wouldn’t be considered an upset. All of this being said, I think Minnesota will squeak out another key win thanks to Tyler Johnson and Rashod Bateman.
5 Alabama -18.5 at Mississippi State
Wow, writing that five next to their name looks weird. Alabama will be out for blood on Saturday after being ranked fifth in the CFP poll. Mississippi State doesn’t stand a chance to hang around. Alabama covers easily.
Air Force -10 at Colorado State
Colorado State has won three in a row, but they don’t stand a chance against Air Force’s option offense. They haven’t beaten anyone impressive and they will get blown out at home on Saturday.
Louisville -4 at NC State
I feel like this could be a trap game for Louisville, but NC State has been absolutely miserable lately. They’ve been routed by FSU, Boston College, Wake Forest, and Clemson in their last four games. Louisville won’t obliterate them, but it’ll be convincing.
1 LSU -21 at Ole Miss
LSU has too much firepower on both sides of the ball for this game to even be close. Joe Burrow will take Ole Miss out of this game by the second quarter.
2 Ohio State -52 at Rutgers
Rutgers is bad at football.
Wyoming +5 at Utah State
Wyoming is in every game they play, even when they lose. Utah State has gotten blown out a few times this year. This is a formula for a Wyoming victory.
