Hello and welcome back to the gambling corner. Today, we will be looking at the best value bets for the NBA Championship as well as the two opening night games.

I am so excited to be back talking about gambling. Especially since I will finally be able to legally gamble on these games. But enough about me, let’s talk money.

NBA Team Futures: Championship

The Most Likely: Bucks +250, Lakers +240, and Clippers +333

When the NBA season was postponed, it seemed (in my eyes) that the Lakers and the Bucks were on a collision course to the NBA Finals. I know the Clippers have beaten the Lakers 2/3 times that they played, but adding players like Dion Waiters and JR Smith to be the shooters that a LeBron James led team desperately needs moves the Lakers ahead of the Clippers to me. I still love this Clippers team and how deep they are, but I have long said, I will never bet against a LeBron James led team in the playoffs.

My official pick is the Bucks over the Lakers in 6 games. I really just do not see anyone stopping this team. They have a +11.2 point differential and are scoring more than 118 ppg. So while my official pick is the Bucks +250, I’m still intrigued by the Lakers and Clippers.

My Sleeper Picks: Celtics +1700, Rockets +1200, and Raptors +2200

If the Rockets had anyone that could stop Anthony Davis or any other center in the league, I would love this pick. But with Robert Covington being their tallest player, I am envisioning some nightmarish matchups in the west.

I have long said do not sleep on the Celtics. Even with Gordon Hayward announcing that he will leave the bubble for the birth of his child, I still think this is one of the deepest and most talented teams in the league. Letting Kyrie Irving walk and replacing him with Kemba Walker has almost made this team look looser, for lack of a better term.

The Raptors are the same as the Celtics. Incredibly balanced with no real superstar. It’s impressive that the Raptors have been able to remain a top contender in the East after losing Kawhi Leonard to the Clippers. I think that there is too much firepower in the east for the Raptors to make a legit run at a repeat, but I may throw a couple bucks on this line just for fun.

NBA Opening Night (July 30th): Lakers -1.5, Pelicans -2.5

If you know me, you know how much I love the direction that the Pelicans are going. Zion Williamson has played a handful of games and is already looking like the next face of the league. Also, I am silently rooting for the Jazz to have the worst chemistry in sports history. I’m sure we all know why that may happen.

Since I am such a fan of the Lakers this year, I am looking for them to come out and really put a stamp on the number one seed in the west with a win over the Clippers. I’m taking them to win opening night.

By the way, I do like hammering the under in the opening games because of the rust factor and that these are weird circumstances, but I won’t make that decision until I watch these opening night games first.
