Corrigan's Gambling Corner: College Football

Hello and happy Thursday, everyone. Welcome back to the Gambling Corner’s Best Bets. Let’s get to the elephant in the room: I am on a massive cold streak right now. It has been a bad month here for me so far. Enough about that, it’s always a good day to pick some winners and get back on the horse.

Best Bets:

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Miami Heat

76ers -1.5

The 76ers are very close to locking up the number-one-seed in the east. They currently lead the Nets by 1.5 games with three games to go. The 76ers will probably look to erase all doubt in the race for the number-one-seed tonight against a Heat team that just lost Victor Oladipo for the year. While Miami is 5-1 ATS in their last six, the 76ers are just a more talented team. Both Jimmy Butler and Joel Embiid are questionable (keep an eye on line movement) for the game as I am writing this. Even if they are both out, the 76ers should win comfortably.

New York Yankees vs. Tampa Bay Rays

U/8.5

This is has been a pretty impressive stretch for the Yankees. It seems like that series in Cleveland finally woke them up. However, the offense still ranks towards the bottom of baseball. The Rays are also a fairly average offensive team this season. You would think that with two starters tonight with ERAs over 5.00, we should expect some offense right? Well, the under is 4-1 in both of these team’s last five games and the under has hit in their three previous matchups.

Oakland A’s vs. Boston Red Sox

u/9.5

For the over to hit, we need ten runs. That is a lot of runs, especially since both of these teams are on an ‘unders run’. The under is 5-1 in Boston’s last six and 4-1 in Oakland’s last five. While Boston has one of the top-rated offenses in baseball, it’s hard to count on the opposing team to carry their weight. So while this pick isn’t value or even savvy, it’s more that we are just gambling on the likelihood of a high-scoring game.

Bonus Picks:

Nationals ML (EVEN) vs. Phillies

Reds -1.5 (+105) vs. Rockies

Hornets vs. Clippers O/223.5 (-110)

Magic (+12) vs. Hawks (-105)
