Corrigan’s Gambling Corner

Corrigan's Gambling Corner: College Football

We are just one week away from the Big Ten (aka the best conference in football) returning to play. That means one thing, more games to bet on. In the meantime, we still have plenty of opportunities to win some money on games this weekend in both college football and the NFL.

2020 Record: 23-26

Pittsburgh vs. Miami (FL) O/47.5

Even though Miami was throttled by Clemson last week, this is still a very good football team. They can beat you on both sides of the ball. There are no worries with Miami scoring a lot of points. No worries with Pittsburgh, either, who is averaging 31.6 points per game entering this matchup. Miami is going to come out angry and motivated after a tough loss.

North Carolina (-13) vs. Florida State

Florida State may be the worst premier program in the country. They are just awful. North Carolina, on the other hand, is a borderline elite team right now. Sam Howell is living up to the preseason hype. It’s fair to be worried about North Carolina’s defense, but they are playing a terrible Florida State offense.

Ole Miss (-2) vs. Arkansas

Ole Miss is an offensive wagon. They do nothing but score, which is predictable under Lane Kiffin. Feleipe Franks cannot be trusted to keep up with the Rebels. Arkansas has played teams tough, but they won’t be able to stay with this Ole Miss offense.

Texas A&M (-5) vs. Mississippi State

Everyone has cooled on Mississippi State since their week one victory over LSU. They will be a good team under Mike Leach, but they need to wait until he gets his recruits into the program. This team has a bad defense, and Kellen Mond picked apart a bad Florida defense. Texas A&M will win big today.

Rams (-3) vs. 49ers

The 49ers are suffering from a severe Super Bowl hangover. Losing Nick Bosa and Richard Sherman does not help. San Francisco is not clicking right now, while the Rams have been a very impressive team. It could be expected that the lack of talent in the Rams front seven (outside of Aaron Donald) would make this an average team. They are still not as good as their Super Bowl team, but they are playing really good football right now.

Browns vs Steelers U/51

This will be a classic AFC North matchup. While the Browns defense has not been very good this season, they make enough plays for Cleveland to win games. Without Nick Chubb, the Browns will need a banged-up Baker Mayfield to step up. This is going to be a very low scoring dog fight.
