Current Pick Record: 61-14
Last week was a pretty solid week. I went 55-13 with most of my losses being because I picked the underdog. My goal this week is to get under 10 incorrect. Let’s do it.
Pittsburgh at 13 Penn State
My Pick: Penn State
If this game wasn’t in Happy Valley, I’d be all over Pittsburgh as the underdog pick. Inter-state rivalries are tough, but I can’t see Penn State losing to an unranked team at home after how well they have started the season.
9 Florida at Kentucky
My Pick: Florida
This is a game that I would love to pick as an upset, but Kentucky hasn’t played great football throughout the first two weeks of the year. They beat some bad teams but they did not blow them out of the water like they should have. They lost Josh Allen who was the main threat on the defensive side of the ball as well as Benny Snell on offense. I believe that Kentucky will cover the spread (-8.5), but Florida will pull it off.
6 Ohio State at Indiana
My Pick: Ohio State
Conference games on the road are always tough, especially for Ohio State. Their sole loss last year came on the road against Purdue and the year before their sole loss was on the road against Iowa. Ohio State will still come away with the win over Indiana, but Indiana will cover the spread (17.5).
Stanford at 17 UCF
My Pick: UCF
If I’m being honest, this slate of games is quite disappointing. This game could go very poorly for Stanford as last week did. My pick is UCF to not only win but to cover the spread (-9) and blow Stanford out.
24 USC at BYU
My Pick: USC
I know, I know. I’m being boring this week. USC is four-point favorites and I don’t expect BYU to make a big stand, despite them being at home. They haven’t been overly impressive in either of the first two weeks. I made the mistake of picking against USC last week and I don’t want to repeat that mistake.
