Chris Bosh says LeBron staying in Miami is the biggest 'What If' of his career

During a segment on NBA TV’s ‘Open Court‘, Former Miami Heat player Chris Bosh said his biggest ‘What If’ of his career was LeBron James staying in Miami. Bosh believes the Heat would’ve won at least one more title had James stayed in Miami.

After spending four seasons with the Heat, and leading them to four consecutive NBA Finals appearances, LeBron left the Heat in 2014 to sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers. During Lebron’s career with the Heat, the team finished 2-2 in the finals, beating the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2012 and San Antonio Spurs in 2013. Their two finals losses were against the Dallas Mavericks in 2011 and the San Antonio Spurs in 2014.

The Heat finished 37-45 and missed the playoffs in the 2014-15 season. Chris Bosh missed the entire second half of that season with blood clots and had to be put on blood thinners. The NBA prohibits players from playing on blood thinners.

Bosh later returned for the 2015-16 season, but the blood clots returned. Since his last game in 2016, Bosh has never played in the NBA again. He recently had his jersey retired by the Heat this past season.

Like his four years with the Heat, LeBron James led the Cleveland Cavaliers to four straight NBA finals appearances. He also led the team to their first NBA title in 2016, after overcoming a 3-1 deficit against the Golden State Warriors. Had LeBron stayed in Miami, you could make the argument the Heat would’ve continued their finals run. However, with Bosh’s health condition, they would’ve had their hands full with the Golden State Warriors.
