Chicago Bulls Look to end First Half on a High Note

There has not been much to be excited about this season if you are a Chicago Bulls fan. All-Star Weekend should have been a cause for celebration, and for the most part, it has been; it’s the first time in 35 that NBA All-Star Weekend has graced the Windy City.

Chicago will host the 2020 NBA All-Star festivities without an all-star of their own. A shame, really. Zach LaVine has performed well despite his team’s ugly record. However, LaVine will perform in the Three-Point Contest, an effort to shake the “just a dunker” label.

LaVine is averaging career-highs in points, rebounds steals, blocks, and three-point percentage (on nearly three more attempts per contest!)

Despite LaVine improving across the board, Chicago has sputtered this season, and they’re riding a five-game losing streak heading into tonight’s contest against the Washington Wizards.

There is reason to be hopeful that Chicago can go into the break on a high note. They are 2-0 versus Washington, winning once at home & once on the road.

The last meeting in D.C. ended in a one-point overtime loss for the home team. A heart-breaker that saw Bradley Beal miss two shots inside of three feet within the final four seconds.

It’s a far cry from the playoff hopes the Bulls had heading into the season, and it’s not the victories they had hoped for, but a win tonight could go a long way in terms of morale moving forward.

Chicago needs all the moral victories they can muster at this point.
