The college football season is coming to an end but that means draft season is starting. Like every week, this week we bring you five prospects to look out for this week, whether they are a first-rounder or one of the more underrated guys in the country. Week 11 brings us some especially good matchups with players looking to get scouts’ eyes on them in potential statement games.
Carson Strong, QB, Nevada
This week’s quarterback is someone a lot of us know by now. Strong is right up there in what seems like a two-headed race for QB1 with Matt Corral after Malik Willis got a bit exposed by a power five school last week. Now, Strong has the chance to prove that he is a first-rounder against a ranked San Diego State team. Several scouts will be in attendance for this one and they’ll see that Strong has turned the Wolfpack from a bottom-feeder team to a top 25 one single-handedly.
Hassan Haskins, RB, Michigan
In what seems like a very deep running back class, no one has happened to mention Haskins. That’s probably because he has split carries almost the whole season with Michigan’s speed back Blake Corum. This week, however, it appears Corum will be out and the load will be put all on Haskins as he goes up against one of the best defenses in the country in Penn State.
Jaquarii Roberson, WR, Wake Forest
Roberson has been incredible for the Demon Deacons so far. He’s only a junior so he may stay another year at Wake but with the way he’s playing he shouldn’t, even if this class is the best in years. Roberson can do it all and is Heisman hopeful Sam Hartman‘s top target. We’ll get to see Roberson look for a big game against a talented North Carolina State defense this week in what is a huge game in Winston-Salem.
Siaki Ika, DT, Baylor
Ika is one of our more underrated guys. He’s put up 3.5 sacks on the year but has been on our radar since last season. He’s got a nice mix of pass rush and run stop ability that should garner him a selection. Ika’s very unknown but this week he will get a chance against Oklahoma to show why he’s one of the better tackles in this weak tackle class.
Jayden Peevy, DT, Texas A&M
Peevy gets massively overshadowed by his counterpart in the tackle spot Demarvin Leal. However, when you watch an A&M game you’ll see this guy constantly just getting involved. He’s the typical defensive tackle that won’t stuff the stat sheet but at the end of the day will just make the play for your team. Pair that with the 6’6″, 315 lbs, frame and you get a guy with some serious potential in the later rounds.
