We have officially begun bowl season in college football and after a week’s hiatus from our prospect watch, we’ll jump right back into a couple of key guys to watch for this week’s bowl games. Every game until next Monday will be under consideration for these prospects. Even though these aren’t the most exciting games, we have a ton of mid-major, very underrated players going at it this week so let’s get right into the list.
Tyler Badie, RB, Missouri
Does your team need running back depth in the 6th round or further? Look no further than Badie. The senior rusher has collected just over 1,600 yards this season with 14 touchdowns and nobody is talking about him. Badie has one last chance against Army this week to prove to people why he is worth a draft selection and a potential roster spot in the NFL.
Chris Cameron, TE/FB, Army
You’ve probably never heard of Chris Cameron and there’s no real reason to have. However, Cameron can actually be a pretty decent utility fullback in the league. He’s played the tight end role at Army to a tee, laying crucial blocks for that complex run game. Cameron will certainly be a UDFA come draft time but keep an eye out for a team in need of a blocking fullback to take a shot on this guy and watch #85 work this week against Missouri.
Chad Muma, LB, Wyoming
Muma is the best player on this list and a prospect not nearly enough people are talking about. He’s a production machine in terms of tackles and a classic middle linebacker. We’ll see Muma in action this week against Kent State where he’ll fly to every ball carrier and make play after play. A big performance here could boost Muma’s already high stock.
Brandon Sebastian, CB, Boston College
Another prospect that is barely talked about but gets the focus this week in his final game at Boston College. The Eagles will take on East Carolina against an offense that has struggled throughout the year. Sebastian has four interceptions on the season and has been BC’s main impact player on defense. Will he get drafted? Probably not but the ball skills do show signs of a promising defensive back who we need to monitor this week.
Matt Araiza, P, San Diego State
Our first special teams player this season. Araiza was a first-team All-American at punter and the kid is just great for the brand. He’s not a phenomenal placekicker but the punting is second to none. Araiza’s long this season sits at a stunning 86 yards. He averages 51.4 yards a punt and is the best punter in this draft class. Araiza is a junior, however, but should declare because he can be drafted in the late rounds either way and start from the get-go.
