Celtics Notebook: Back to Beantown

The Celtics went overseas for a matchup with the 76ers in London and came back with a 114-103 win.  21 points from Jaylen Brown lead the way for Boston, while JJ Redick poured in 22 for Philadelphia.

The Celtics came home to a game against the Pelicans, and Anthony Davis erupted for 45 points in what was a 116-113 overtime win for the Pelicans.  Kyrie Irving scored 27 points in the losing effort for Boston.

Hayward begins shooting again

Gordon Hayward is continuing rehab on his fractured left ankle and began doing light shooting during practice Tuesday.  

Before the team’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans Tuesday night, coach Brad Stevens spoke to reporters.

“[Hayward has] been doing his consistent workouts,” Stevens said. “He’s consistently got his routine with regard to his rehab. He’s doing some spot shooting. Very, very light.”

Celtics legend JoJo White passes away at 71

Former Celtics shooting guard JoJo White passed away on Jan. 16th at the age of 71. 

White was a member of two championship teams during the 1970s and won an Olympic gold medal in 1968.  White played 10 seasons in Boston after being drafted in 1969 and was the 1976 NBA Finals MVP.  The Celtics retired his number 10 in 1982.
