The Boston Celtics fell to the Milwaukee Bucks 104-102 in game four despite an impressive effort from second-year forward Jaylen Brown, who scored 34 points in the game.
With the victory, the Bucks knotted up the series with Boston at two games apiece, but the Celtics can take away some positives from the postseason loss.
Down by 20 with 7:37 left in the third quarter, the Celtics rallied to make the game competitive once again as they erupted for 67 combined points in the third and fourth quarters.
It’s encouraging to see a young team like Boston show the resiliency to come back and take a late lead on the road in a postseason game after trailing by 20 points. Without their regular season leading scorer Kyrie Irving available, the Celtics were able to ride the big nights of Brown and rookie forward Jayson Tatum—who ended with 21 points, three assists, three rebounds—to keep the contest close until the very end.

However, the comeback bid would ultimately come up short for Boston. With the game tied at 102 and just 5.1 seconds left in regulation, Bucks’ star Giannis Antetokounmpo tipped in a Malcolm Brogdon miss which gave Milwaukee a two-point lead that they would never relinquish.
The Celtics will now look to regroup as the series comes back to Boston on Tuesday, April 24 for a decisive Game five matchup. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
