The Cleveland Cavaliers were no match for the Miami Heat, who was on fire from beyond the three-point arc. The Heat dominated the Cavaliers 124-100 at the American Airlines Arena. The victory moves the Heat season record to 10-3.
Here are my takeaways from Wednesday’s victory.
Starters set the tone
The Heat is now 7-1 when they start the lineup of Bam Adebayo, Meyers Leonard, Kendrick Nunn, Jimmy Butler, and Duncan Robinson. Adebayo got the game started with eight quick points, on 4-for-4 shooting. The first unit helped the team move to an early 15-point lead before ending the first quarter up 32-22.
At some point, Heat starting point guard Justise Winslow will be back. Before Winslow went down, there were questions about his offensive fit with Butler. With the first unit playing well together, it’s going to be interesting to see what Winslow’s role will be once he returns.
Robinson’s huge night
We got Shooters!!! Duncan Robinson put on a three-point shooting clinic on Wednesday night, particularly in the second quarter. Robinson scored 21 on 7-of-9 shooting on threes. He finished the night one shy of tying the Heat record for threes in a game(10).
MIAMI RUNS ON DUNCAN!!! @D_Bo20 has a career high 24 points (8-10 3PT FG) in ☝️ half – 21 of which came in the 2nd quarter alone! pic.twitter.com/bJ0CVIQ6Bw

While the spotlight has been on the Heat’s rookies, Robinson is proven why he deserves a spot in the Heat’s rotation. Robinson can space the floor and play passable defense. It’s going to be tough to keep him out of the rotation.
Turnovers
If the Heat wants to be considered an elite team, they’re going to need to address their turnover issue. The Heat entered Wednesday’s game averaging a league-high 18.8 turnovers per game this season. Miami committed 24 turnovers in the win.
This is the sixth time Miami has committed 20 turnovers or more this season. So far, the turnovers haven’t affected the team’s hot start. Hopefully, they can keep the turnovers down as the season progresses.
Next up: The Chicago Bulls on Friday. Game tips off at 8pmET
