The tough Metropolitan Division proved to be too much for the Devils, who faltered in front of terrible goaltending.
This was another dreadful season for the Chicago Blackhawks, even on top of their own self-inflicted PR Nightmare. They have now missed the postseason in four of the last five seasons, and the lone year they did was in the bubble.
The Nashville Predators were the first team eliminated in this year’s NHL playoffs, getting swept by the league’s best Colorado Avalanche in the first round.
The Vegas Golden Knights were one of the biggest disappointments around the league.
Although the Montreal Canadiens had the least amount of wins within the entire National Hockey League this year, it does not appear to be a continuing trend for the Habs.
The first-ever season for the Seattle Kraken, well, happened. They finished dead last in the Western Conference and a bulk of their moves from the Expansion Draft and in free agency haven’t panned out.
