Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics has been playing lights out. Brown, who is in his fifth season, has taken a giant leap as a player.
After Friday’s lost in Dallas, the Miami Heat were looking to get back on track. The rebuilding Oklahoma City Thunder were just what the doctor ordered. Miami had the lead throughout the game, with the exception of the start of the second quarter. They then went on a 20-0 run in the third quarter to pull away. The win puts Miami’s record to 3-3 for the season.
The Miami Heat will have to wait for its first win of the new calendar year. As always, Miami continued to fight until the end. However, the early shooting struggles made it too difficult to overcome. Miami falls to 2-3 for the season.
January is here and subsequently a new NBA power ranking. Currently, no teams remain undefeated, while Detroit and Washington continue to search for their first win. Aside from ranking all 30 teams, we’ll also take a look at every team’s top performer through the first few weeks of the 2020-21 season.
It was a tale of two nights. After a disastrous performance on Tuesday, the Miami Heat put up a much better fight. Miami brought a more defensive intensity to the game. They did a much better job of defending the perimeter. Even though the Milwaukee Bucks went up by double digits, Miami went on a huge run in the second half to close the game. With the win, Miami is now 2-2 for the season.
A sigh of relief washed over Steph Curry at the end of the Warriors 129-128 win over the Chicago Bulls. After starting 0-2 against the high powered Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State notched their first win of the season on a buzzer-beater from Damion Lee.
There’s no better way to celebrate Christmas than with a Miami Heat win, especially against a talented young New Orleans Pelicans team. The Pelicans started this game off strong. They even cut an eventual Miami 23-point lead to six in the fourth quarter. However, Miami went on a 18-7 run to close the game with a win, their first of the new season. With all that said, here are four takeaways from Friday’s win over New Orleans.
Through one game, the Hornets have a big problem: they have 3 starting guards and 2 guard spots. To be clear, it is not as if Charlotte has some of the top tier guards in the league that could all be the top options on another team. They do, however, have three players that make a great case to start.
For the third straight time, the Miami Heat opened up their season in Orlando. Miami had a 93-91 lead with 4:30 left in the fourth quarter, but then the Orlando Magic went on a huge run to finish the game.
James Harden wants out of Houston and was initially focused on a trade to the Brooklyn Nets, but two sides have to tango in a trade and the Nets shouldn’t want to dance with Houston.
The Boston Celtics open up their season tonight. The second day of the 2020-2021 NBA season has the Celtics going up against an Eastern Conference powerhouse.
