This division has players who want to prove themselves, but it also has players that need to live up to the hype surrounding their names in the past couple of months. I mean think about it, there are so many names that have dominated conversations that are on sup-par teams, at least when compared to years past. Trae Young, Bradley Beal, Jimmy Butler, Terry Rozier, and Nikola Vucevic just to name a few!
As Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra stated in pregame, this was a “dress rehearsal” for the team. The Heat starters played more minutes, and the team played with a ten-man rotation for most of the game. And it was largely successful, with the team defeating the Orlando Magic 107-98 on Thursday.
Here are my four takeaways from Thursday’s game vs the Magic.
It was a tight race for the Atlantic Division championship last season, and the 2019-20 edition is shaping up to be equally as competitive. Well, except for the New York Knicks… My apologies to the Knicks faithful.

Another day, another division preview! The start of the regular season is almost here. T-minus less than two weeks! Are you excited? I’m excited. In fact, I think this could be the most interesting season for both players and for fans. So many teams switched up their rosters in a drastic way and that can only mean one thing: there’s going to be plenty of drama.
