Candace Parker, who has not played in a single game this season due to an injury to her hamstring, has apparently started getting workouts in with Sparks player development coach Jamal “Dash” Lovell. Parker shared a photo last Friday on social media with Lovell and Orlando Magic point guard Michael Carter-Williams with the caption “ALWAYS the class clown. Great work last night with my guys.” Could this mean that the Sparks legend is on the verge of return? In Parker’s absence, the Sparks are currently 3-2 coming off of a big win against their rival the Minnesota Lynx in Minnesota on Saturday. With Candace back in the lineup, Chelsea Gray, and the addition of Chiney Ogwumike to the team, Los Angeles might just have what they need to win it all this season.

Parker averaged 17.9 points, on 47.1% shooting, 8.2 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.1 blocks per game. Per 36 minutes, Parker comes close to averaging a double-double, with 21.1 points, on 47.1% shooting, 9.6 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.3 blocks.

Although the Sparks have looked good without Parker, if they want any chance of winning the championship this season, they’re going to need a healthy Candace Parker. She is one of the top players in the league, and she’s ready to prove it this season by winning a championship.

Last season, the Sparks had a record of 19-15, but this season, they have started off with a record above .500 at 3-2. This is a small sample size, but a positive, considering Parker’s return is coming up. This could be the year for Los Angeles to win the championship.
