The Boston Bruins, or what’s left of them, are heading out west to California for a three game road trip.
It may still be early in the season, but this road trip to the Golden State is critical for the Bruins.
The Bruins are 6-6-4 and need to turn things around if they want to meet their playoff aspirations.
That won’t be easy as they will be facing three straight contenders on the road.
Los Angeles sits atop the Pacific division and has already beaten the Bruins once.
The Sharks aren’t far behind them and will provide just as tough of a challenge.
The Bruins will be facing a struggling Ducks team that will be without Ryan Getzlaf, but Anheim is coming off a Western Conference Final berth and is bound to turn it around eventually.
Lucky for Boston, the road trip consists of three west coast teams. The Bruins are still winless against the Eastern Conference, all six of their wins have come against the west.
Unlucky for the Bruins however, is the state of the constantly growing injury report. The team announced that star Brad Marchand and rookie Anders Bjork will not make the trip to California.
The Bruins have struggled to score at times this season, and now they’ll be without their best player for the next three games.
