With just under two weeks left until the 2019 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills are deciding who they want to draft in the first round.
At the ninth overall pick, the Buffalo Bills sit in an excellent spot for a possible trade back in the draft. Behind them sit the Denver Broncos who may be entertaining trades with several teams.
After acquiring Joe Flacco from the Baltimore Ravens earlier in the year, the Broncos would be a team looking to draft a quarterback. Missouri quarterback, Drew Lock, would be an excellent addition with a willingness to learn behind Flacco. For many teams that want a young quarterback, they would have to trade up, making Buffalo a prime target.
Teams like the Dolphins, Raiders, and maybe even the Seahawks might be looking to jump into the top 10. Quarterbacks such as Kyler Murray and Dwayne Haskins are more than likely to be drafted before the Bills pick. For General Manager Brandon Beane, this would be a smart choice to trade back. The Buffalo Bills would be able to accumulate an additional first round pick. This also gives them the flexibility of who they would like to draft.
If the team decided to trade back, they would be able to snag elite players. Kansas State offensive lineman Dalton Risner, Iowa tight end Noah Fant, or cornerback Greedy Williams would be available out of LSU. These selections would complete some holes that are still present on the team’s roster, while also accumulating other picks from the trade.
Although no big rumors of trades for the ninth pick have been heard, there is no telling what may happen on draft night. Do not be surprised if General Manager Brandon Beane decides to pull the trigger on a trade back. By further benefitting this team, the organization has a lot to look forward to this upcoming season.
