In yet another road game for the Boston Celtics filled with offensive woes, the Milwaukee Bucks took game six by a final score of 97-86.
The low-scoring affair was partly due to outstanding defense by Milwaukee. The Bucks held the Celtics to 37 percent shooting from the field, including 10-of-36 shooting from beyond the arc.
Brad Stevens’ squad rallied back from a double-digit deficit in the second half, and a Marcus Morris three cut the lead to two with 7:13 left in the final period.
Boston’s offense then went cold, missing four straight shots between the 3:32 and the two-minute mark, which allowed for Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks to tie the Celtics at three wins apiece.
Antetokounmpo ended the night leading all scorers with 31 points on 13-of-23 shooting. He also crashed the boards and snagged 14 rebounds. Jabari Parker fell one point shy of a double-double with 11 rebounds and nine points.
Jayson Tatum led the way for Boston despite a poor shooting night from the Celtics overall. The upcoming star was responsible for 22 of his team’s 86 points.
Veteran forward Al Horford achieved a double-double despite only attempting eight shots. Horford had 10 points, 10 rebounds, and also demonstrated some of his passing ability by putting up four assists.
Terry Rozier, Jaylen Brown, and Marcus Morris all scored 12 or more points, but on a combined 16-of-46 shooting.
Thus far, neither team has won away from home. The entertaining series will now head back to the TD Garden in Boston, where the Celtics will try and advance to the second round despite injuries to their star players. Tipoff is set for Saturday, April 28 at 8 p.m.
