Browns’ Kevin Stefanski Wins Coach of the Year Award

Kevin Stefanski

After years of turmoil in Cleveland, Kevin Stefanski joined a Browns team that desperately needed consistency. In his first season at the helm, he helped bring the Browns to the playoffs and has now been named the 2020 Head Coach of the Year.

Pulled away from his role as the Minnesota Vikings’ offensive coordinator, Stefanski led the Browns to a 10-6 record. Cleveland made the playoffs and picked apart the Pittsburgh Steelers in the opening round, though Stefanski did not attend due to COVID-19 protocols. Upon Stefanski’s return the next week, the Browns made a push to upset the Kansas City Chiefs but came up just shy. Nevertheless, his emergence as a fearless leader among a young and dominant Browns team should provide fans with optimism.

In addition to Stefanski, the list of candidates included Matt LaFleur (Green Bay Packers), Brian Flores (Miami Dolphins), Sean McDermott (Buffalo Bills), and Andy Reid (Kansas City Chiefs).
