Breaking: Red Sox Fire Alex Cora

In what seemed like the inevitable outcome, the Boston Red Sox announced on Tuesday that they have relieved manager Alex Cora of duties.

This move comes a little more than 24 hours after Astros owner Jim Crane relieved A.J. Hinch in wake of the MLB’s ruling for their electronic sign-stealing scheme devised by Cora.

The Red Sox are now left without a manager, although one can assume that bench coach Ron Roenicke (542-531 in four-plus seasons with the Brewers) is the prime candidate to take over in the short term.

It is still unknown what the punishment coming from the MLB will be, but Alex Cora is no longer the manager of the Boston Red Sox. Cora spent two years at the helm, winning the World Series in 2018 after a historic 108-win regular season –– however tainted by recent allegations of an illegal video room used to decode opponents’ signs.
