Per Jim McBride of the Boston Globe, the Patriots are releasing longtime kicker Stephen Gostkowski.

Gostkowski, 36, is the Patriots’ all-time leading scorer and holds the NFL record for most consecutive extra points with 479.
The team selected the Memphis alum in the fourth round of the 2006 NFL Draft and has been the mainstay placekicker since the departure of Adam Vinatieri.
The Patriots do not have any kicker under contract as of now.
