The New England Patriots appeared to have dodged a bullet as the rookie running back Sony Michel’s knee injury isn’t as serious as previously thought.
ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter tweeted the latest from a reliable source that the injury wasn’t expected to be season-ending.
Text from last night on Patriots’ RB Sony Michel and his injured knee: “Expect it will be a little bit but not overly serious. Won’t know til they look at it Monday.”

More reports have surfaced that the injury is merely an MCL sprain which takes weeks rather than months to heal.
Michel was one of the two Georgia running backs along with Nick Chubb selected high in this past year’s draft rushing 95 times for 422 yards and four touchdowns which is tied for most among rookie running backs with Saquon Barkley and Kerryon Johnson.

I hope Monday’s review confirms it’s nothing too serious as they are really short on running backs.
