Per Adrian Wojnarowski, Atlanta Hawks’ power forward John Collins has been suspended 25 games after he tested positive for PEDS. Collins used Growth Hormone releasing Peptide-2 (GHRP-2).
This is a devastating loss for a young Atlanta Hawks team with hopes of making the playoffs. Collins had been putting up 17.0 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game on 52.5 percent shooting from the field through five games.
Collins will be eligible to play again on December 23 against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
In his absence, the Hawks will need Jabari Parker and rookie Bruno Fernando to take on a bigger role. Collins is expected to appeal his suspension.
In other Atlanta Hawks news, Trae Young will return tonight against the Spurs after he missed the previous game with a sprained ankle.
