Celebrations swept the New England area after their team’s come from behind victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars 24-20. Media outlets also rushed to cover the story and get it out on their news stations and sites as soon as possible.
However for one outlet, an editor overlooked a glaring mistake that has predictably gone viral. The outlet posted their covered story on the game with a photo of former Patriots’ tight end Aaron Hernandez.
Hernandez who took his life last year, was charged for murdering former football player Odin Lloyd and later convicted. Hernandez was found not guilty in a double-murder trial and would then commit suicide less than a week after the verdict.
The photo has bounced off of people’s twitter feeds which include Lindsey Adler.

WCVB later issued an apology via Twitter saying that they will be more vigilant and avoid mistakes like these in the future.
A news service that provides WCVB some digital content accidentally posted a pic of Aaron Hernandez in connection w/Pats AFC champ win on our social media. It’s embarrassing & unacceptable. We apologize & are working w/team to correct so something like this never happens again.
