Boston Bruins Recall Jeremy Lauzon, Demote Steven Kampfer

With the All-Star break looming, the Bruins continued to make roster moves. On Tuesday morning, Jeremy Lauzon was recalled from Providence while Steven Kampfer was sent down. Kampfer appeared in 10 games for Boston this season and recorded two assists.

This will not be Lauzon’s first taste of NHL action as he has appeared in 17 games for the Bruins over the past two seasons. The Canadian native is one of the team’s top prospects and is having a solid season in Providence. In 43 games this season, he has one goal and 12 assists.

Lauzon is not expected to play a major role and will most likely serve as an insurance option. He could also see some playing time Tuesday night if the Bruins want to give some of their defensemen an extended rest before the All-Star break.

Over the past week, the Bruins’ management has not been afraid to shake up the roster amidst the team’s struggles. The Bruins also could be showcasing Lauzon with the trade deadline looming.

Regardless of how long Lauzon’s stay is, he will be looking to make an impact and prove that he deserves a permanent role.
