HBO Sports and NFL Films partnered again to create a documentary about two of the greatest coaches of all time.
The documentary, titled “Belichick & Saban: The Art of Coaching,” is about Bill Belichick and Nick Saban’s respective careers ranging from their combined backgrounds to their current positions.
The two coaches have a long-standing history, beginning when Belichick’s father Steve coached with Saban at the United States Naval Academy.
Before coaching for New England, Belichick was the head coach of the Cleveland Browns. He brought Saban in as his defensive coordinator, and the combination of the two made for a deadly duo.
Since going their separate ways, Belichick has led the New England Patriots to six Super Bowl championships. Saban has led his college teams to six National Championships, including five with the University of Alabama.
“Bill Belichick and Nick Saban have become the modern versions of Vince Lombardi and John Wooden — symbols of success not just in sports, but in life,” said Ross Ketover, the chief executive of NFL Films, in a press release. “Their lessons on leadership are an inspiration — not just for those of us who love football, but for anyone who wants to thrive at whatever passion they pursue.”
The documentary will premiere on Tuesday, Dec. 10 from 9:00 – 10:30 on HBO. It will also be available on HBO’s streaming platforms including HBO GO and HBO On Demand.
