The Chicago Bears are expected to fill their hole at safety with Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, as reported by NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport. Clinton-Dix will be signing a one-year, $3.5 million deal with the team. He will replace Adrian Amos on the Bears roster, who recently left in free agency to sign with the Green Bay Packers.
The #Bears are signing S Ha Ha Clinton-Dix to a 1-year deal, sources tell me and @MikeGarafolo. Formerly of the #Redskins and #Packers, he gets a new home in Chicago.

Taking a look back at his career, Clinton-Dix was selected to the Pro Bowl in the 2016 season. He was traded to the Redskins after playing for the Green Bay Packers, the team that drafted him, for the beginning of his career. In his entire career, he has 14 interceptions, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, 456 total tackles, 5.5 sacks, and 8 quarterback hits. These are solid stats for a former first-rounder who starts the majority of the games he plays in.
Clinton-Dix has not been the most consistent player over the course of his four-year career, but at 26-years-old, still has time to improve to one of the NFL’s top safeties. It will be interesting to see whether this will be a breakout year for Clinton-Dix, as his role will be very important as Matt Nagy’s Bears look to make the playoffs once again.
