The 2021-22 UEFA Champions League knockout stage will commence in February. Several European heavyweights such as Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Ajax, Bayern Munich, and Inter Milan are in. In addition, the defending champions Chelsea are in the Round of 16 too. Furthermore, Ligue 1 side Lille is in the Round of 16 for the first time since the 2006-07 tournament. The Round of 16 is loaded.

Not surprisingly, Manchester City is a huge favorite to win the title. Ajax, Inter Milan, Juventus, and Manchester United can both be dark horses. Also, the defending champions Chelsea can’t be counted out. Anything can happen with Real Madrid and Liverpool. Paris Saint-Germain and Lille will have their work cut for them. And Bayern Munich is capable of beating anyone in their path, which has to make them a strong favorite.

Why is Bayern Munich a favorite?

The club is loaded with talent. With the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Müller, Leroy Sané, Kingsley Coman, Alphonso Davies, Serge Gnabry, Joshua Kimmich, and Manuel Neuer, Bayern Munich is a threat to anyone who is to square off against them. Bayern Munich is responsible for the elimination of Barcelona from the tournament.

What makes the club dangerous is far from the talent they have. Bayern Munich is and always has been known for its concentration and brilliant teamwork. In addition, the club always plays with a winning mentality. Those three aspects are why the club won all six games in the tournament’s group stage. Furthermore, those three aspects are why the club is a favorite to win its second title in three years.

Bayern Munich will take on RB Salzburg in the Round of 16. Since the club has everything they need to win the title, they should have no problem taking care of business in the Round of 16.
