In 2020, the Las VegasRaiders made their debut in “Sin City”, but only slightly improved their record from 7-9 in 2019 to 8-8, missing the playoffs. The bright spot, however, is that head coach Jon Gruden got his team so close to a winning record in just his third season since taking over the team.
As bad as the season went for the Houston Texans, the early offseason period was worse. New head coach David Culley seems to have settled the rocking ship, and general manager Nick Caserio’s veteran acquisitions are part of that stability.
Expectations are high for the Cleveland Browns entering the 2021 NFL season, and rightfully so. Albeit a year later than most expected, the Browns’ roster lived up to the hype last season, ending their 18-year playoff drought, despite a third-place finish in the AFC North.

The 2021 NFL Draft was a weird one for the Cleveland Browns and their fan base, and that’s not a bad thing. In total, Cleveland made eight selections and two trades across the three days of the draft.
In recognition of their quarterback’s waning time, Pittsburgh went all-in on offense in the first four rounds of the 2021 NFL Draft. With two playmakers and two linemen, the Steelers filled their offensive holes and used the back half of the draft to acquire defensive depth.
Coming off of their first playoff victory in 26 years, the Cleveland Browns enter this postseason with a strong foundation. With nine picks in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Browns are now in the position of drafting to contend, not just compete.
The 2020 NFL offseason was unlike any other, though most similar to a lockout season, it wasn’t entirely unprecedented. Introducing a new coaching system and a quarterback as the Carolina Panthers did was no cakewalk regardless. That they finished the season 5-11 while also losing All-Pro Christian McCaffrey was mildly impressive.
The Houston Texans quickly went from being a near perennial playoff contender to revealing an actual foundation as stable as a house of cards. The team is reluctant to do anything toward moving Deshaun Watson, making managing free agency that much more difficult.
