The Minnesota Timberwolves finished the 2020-21 NBA season with a 23-49 record. They struggled to stay healthy over the course of the season with all of their top players missing significant time outside of rookie Anthony Edwards.
The NBA Playoffs are underway and the first round is littered with great matchups. The Memphis Grizzlies defied the odds and beat the Golden State Warriors in a single game winner takes all showdown for the rights to the eighth seed in the Western Conference.
The Portland Trail Blazers and Denver Nuggets will kick off their opening-round series Saturday night in Denver. The Trailblazers should be eager to be back in the playoffs after falling short last year in the bubble.
For the second consecutive season, the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Clippers will meet in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. The Clippers won the 2020 playoff series 4-2 against a shorthanded Mavericks team.
