While the first half of the 2020-2021 season made the Nashville Predators’ playoff hopes seem bleak, their second half was absolutely phenomenal. Winning 20 out of their last 28 games, they were able to sneak by the Dallas Stars and make the playoffs as the fourth team from the revamped Central Division.
Last season was a tough one for the Detroit Red Wings and their fans. They ended the year tied for last place in the revamped Central Division with the Columbus Blue Jackets, finishing with 48 points and a 19-27-10 record.
Welcome to another NHL Season Preview! In this edition, we take a look at the Ottawa Senators. Last season was yet another rough year for the Ottawa Senators as they only had 51 points finishing with a 23-28-5 record. However, in the weak North Division, they finished eight points out of a playoff spot. But nonetheless, they did not make it to the playoffs once again.
Welcome to another one of our Season Previews! This time around, we’ll discuss the Winnipeg Jets. Last season ended shockingly for the Jets after being swept by the Montreal Canadiens in the second round of the playoffs.
The Montreal Canadiens made a run of dreams last season, making the playoffs as the fourth team out of the North Division. They started by taking out the top-seeded Toronto Maple Leafs in seven games, then they swept the Winnipeg Jets in the second round.
During the 2021 NHL Draft, the Detroit Red Wings made eight selections. General manager Steve Yzerman was a busy man on draft night, making three draft-day trades in the process.
During the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, the Winnipeg Jets made four total selections. There were no draft day trades made by general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff who seemed just fine to stand pat where the team was at.
During the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, the St. Louis Blues made four selections. They made one draft-day trade on day two, moving up in the third round while also losing a sixth-round pick in that deal.

The Arizona Coyotes had nine picks in the 2021 NHL Draft. After forfeiting their first-round pick due to the scouting scandal, they acquired the ninth-overall pick from the Vancouver Canucks for a package that saw Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Conor Garland head North of the border.
In the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, the Los Angeles Kings entered the draft with seven picks but ended up making four selections. General manager Rob Blake was busy on the phones, making three draft day trades, which moved his team up in the second round as well as gained them another second-round pick.
During the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, the Minnesota Wild came into the draft with nine picks but made seven total selections. General manager Bill Guerin made two draft-day trades, moving up in the first round and moving back into the fourth round as a result.
