Despite finishing the Carolina Panthers game against the New England Patriots. the news for quarterback Sam Darnold was not so good. It was reported on Monday that Darnold would miss several weeks after suffering a shoulder injury on Sunday.
On Wednesday afternoon, Penn State head coach James Franklin announced that redshirt running back Journey Brown was medically retiring from football. He had been held out of the season in October while he went through further evaluations of a medical condition identified in the offseason. The medical condition he was diagnosed with was hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
Well the NFL season is half over. There have been several notable injuries already this year and Week 8 had some big names injured as well
Week 7 had a couple of notable injuries including a couple season-ending ones. It was also a bad week for running backs as there are three of them on our injury report this week.
Week 6 of the NFL season was a little better for teams than previous weeks have been. Here are my reports on some of the key injuries from last week.
The Dallas Cowboys had a season altering event on Sunday. With the game tied in the third quarter, Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott took off on a designed draw play. At the end of the play, after planting his foot he was hit by the defender and the combination of his positioning and the force of the tackle resulted in a very serious ankle injury.
Week 4 was a typical week in terms of injuries. A few players lost for the rest of the season and a few with less serious injuries.
Week 3 was not as eventful on the injury front as Week 2 was for sure. However, there were still several players injured and I try to breakdown all the news on an injury front heading into Week 4 of the NFL season.
