Around the NBA: (Week 9) TNT Preview

Coach Treal | December 19th, 2019

Hoops Family!!! We are back basketball fans with week nine of the 2019-20 NBA Season and just a week away from the Christmas slate of games. This is the time of the season when most people start tuning into the league and the playoff picture starts taking shape.

Lakers (24-4, 14-2 Away) Vs. Bucks (24-4, 13-2 Home)

The game of the week in my opinion and many people around the world in some ways is a statement game for both teams. Writing this the day of gives me a little more perspective as both teams have identical records of 24-4 and both coming off a loss so neither team wants to go on a two game losing streak. I am expecting a playoff atmosphere and intensity from the opening tip.

We have three of the leading guys for the MVP hopefully taking the floor tonight but injuries will play a big role in the takeaways as well as the winner for this contest. Anthony Davis as of press hasn’t been ruled out for tonight’s game but could miss his second game in a row tonight as he is officially listed as questionable and Kyle Kuzma will be out for the fifth consecutive game. On the Milwaukee end of things, they will be without their starting point guard Eric Bledsoe who is expected to miss around two weeks with a right fibular fracture.

With LeBron James making his only trip to town of course unless these two teams make the NBA Finals this season he will be looking to give the fans in attendance and watching around the world a show tonight. He comes into the game fresh off winning another NBA Player of the Week award while he continues to lead the league in assists all the while still averaging 26PPG along with 7RPG.

On the other end, you have the league reigning MVP Giannas Antetokounmpo averaging career highs with 31PPG and 13RPG along with 5APG. The role players on both teams will need to impact the game in a positive way to really tip the scales for one of these teams. Both teams come into the game ranking in the top ten for points scored per game and both are two of the top defensive teams in the league as well. This should be a great game and one we should all sit back and enjoy.
